    Looking for an intersting Ph.D. research project?

    The Rosenblum and Stern labs are looking for a joint, highly motivated PhD student for the study of bipolar disorder using neurons derived from human patients with genomic variations that are highly associated and documented in bipolar disorder. We have a unique and characterized cohort of patients with these genomic variants. Starting from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), the student will learn to differentiate iPSCs into hippocampal neuronal cultures and organoids. We are interested in finding disease mechanisms using electrophysiology (such as imaging of calcium transients and whole cell patch clamp) and molecular biology for better understanding of the disease and with the goal of improving treatment.
